The Chili Cook-Off is one of my favorite activities that we do in Foods 1. It is the grand finale for the semester. Students are given a basic chili recipe as well as access to the pantry ingredients and spices to customize and create a unique and edible culinary delight. In addition to the chili, each kitchen group must name their chili and create a place card for it. Judges are then invited in to taste and rate each chili based upon color, aroma, consistency, taste and aftertaste. Below are some photos from the competition.
